Last Sunday I checked out a new church on the southside called Indian Creek.  I’m not sure where the name came from because I didn’t see a creek or water or even indians.  I did, however, manage to find the cafe upon entering the building and made myself a cup of joe before stopping by a welcome booth on my way to the sanctuary.  The atmosphere was joyful, upbeat, and enthusiastic – it reminded me of our Thursday night Cru worship times at Ball State.  When the music was finished, a middle-aged man who looked like he would fit into powerlifting team as well as a ministry team stood up and introduced the speaker for the morning.  A guy who looked to be in his late 20’s approached the platform.  He was sporting jeans and a shaggy hairstyle that made him look like a member of Switchfoot.  It became clear when he spoke though that he was not a kid spiritually.  The next 30 minutes were filled with stories about his ministry,  It all started when a couple of guys rented a booth at a Vegas porn convention, brought their wives (as the speaker said from the pulpit, “We weren’t that stupid that we would go by ourselves”), and started engaging the attendees with Jesus.  Their website loads with a pretty powerful video telling the story behind how a young girl is exploited for money over the internet.  They also have a cool software tool that flags any questionable sites that are viewed on the computer it is installed on and drops an e-mail to an accountability partner.  And it’s free!
